Shawn Collinsworth was initiated at Indiana State University in 1991. After graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology, he continued his education and received a Master of Science degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education in 1996.
Shawn joined the Phi Kappa Psi Headquarters Staff in June of 1998 as a Leadership Development Consultant. He has created and developed the curriculum for several leadership programs such as the Leadership Experience and the Fraternity Educators Leadership Academy. In January of 1999, Shawn became the Director of Leadership Development and supervised the leadership-programming arm of the Fraternity.
In August of 2001, Shawn was appointed by the Executive Council to become Phi Kappa Psi’s sixth Executive Director. Since being Executive Director, Shawn has been very active in the Interfraternal world. Shawn served as the program chair for the Fraternity Executive Association and has presented leadership programming to numerous Phi Psi chapters, as well as other fraternities such as Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Tau Delta, and Delta Upsilon. Shawn has served on the Fraternity Executive’s Association Board of Directors and is the past Chair of the FEA Field Staff Conference.
Outside of his professional life, Shawn is also very active in the community. He has worked with the Hamilton Center Outpatient Unit developing team building skills for their clients, mentored elementary school children on reading and
comprehension, and coached a middle school track team. Shawn is married to Ellen and has two sons, Carson and Bryce.
