    CSO/Presidents Symposium

    September 10, 2010

This one day seminar will focus on the important partnership between executive directors and presidents to ensure good governance in voluntary organizations. The curriculum will give you and your partner the chance to explore your priorities for the year and determine how best to work together.

Gain insights about making knowledge-based decisions, creating a culture of trust and sustaining a nimble infrastructure. Learn from best practices in not for profit organizations and learn the difference between oversight, supervision and “snoopervision”. Make sure your board meetings focus more on strategic direction than “administrivia”. The program is designed to engage partners in activities to discuss leadership styles and encourage immediate application of knowledge-based governance strategies.

With the help of skilled workshop leaders, organizations will build a high performing board that understands its role, fulfills its responsibilities, demonstrates visionary leadership, and leads our organizations to new heights. Each session combines theory with best practices in the field to help you get up to speed fast. Through case studies, lectures and small group discussion, you will explore issues relevant to nonprofit governance and your particular organization. Through interacting with other leaders in the fraternal world, you will gain a better understanding of the “big picture” of the Greek movement and make important life-long contacts that will benefit you and your organization for years to come.
