The FEA Field Staff Conference continues to be a valuable resource for organizations wanting to provide robust training for their traveling staff members. The 2019 program will feature sessions focused on the following core competencies identified for traveling consultants:

In 2019 field staff participants will have the opportunity to participate in two pre-con events on Monday afternoon from 11:00 to 5:00 p.m. For the women, MJ Insurance and Zeta Tau Alpha are providing Risk Management on the Road and for the men, the North-American Interfraternity Conference will be hosting, Creating Cultural Change On Campus. Both opportunities are being offered free of charge and can be added to your Field Staff Registration.

NIC Standards / IFC Crash Course - North-American Interfraternity Conference (recommended for all attendees from men’s organizations)
Fraternities are at a turning point—a critical moment. To thrive today and beyond, fraternal culture must evolve. Through extraordinary interfraternal collaboration, men’s fraternities came together to chart a bold course for the future. Their work resulted in sweeping changes to the NIC aimed at creating vibrant, healthy fraternity communities—one community at a time.
Since all NIC organizations have come together to help shape cultural change on college campuses, fraternity staff will play a key role in supporting, advocating, and shaping this collective effort. This free afternoon session will fully explain, explore, and share the NIC goals and our vision for fraternity communities to help us foster effective peer governance, the cultivation of fraternity men and to address the misuse of alcohol through enhanced health and safety measures.
 
Risk Management on the Road – Zeta Tau Alpha and MJ Insurance Sorority Division
Since its debut in 2005, the Risk Management on the Road program has been preparing NPC community members for their new professional jobs working with collegiate chapters and alumnae volunteers.  Risk management and education changes at an increasingly rapid pace. MJ Insurance and Zeta Tau Alpha partner with experts to provide holistic training and resources on key topics like alcohol, mental health, sexual assault awareness and prevention, and other issues impacting today’s collegians, with an emphasis upon applying this learning out in the field.

Additionally this year we are adding a new program to support those staff members that supervise field staff.

Consultant Supervisor Training
We have heard loud and clear that individuals who supervise consultants also need support. To meet that need we are partnering with Erin Fischer at the Leadership and Training Studio to provide a one day program focused on training staff, supervision, competency building, hiring practices and directing work. The plan is to spend the day training supervisors and Monday evening join up with the consultants for a joint session on how to best work as a team. Supervisors would be asked to be present Monday from 11:30 a.m. through the general session that will end at 8:30 p.m. and could depart on Tuesday. The cost for this program is $199 but does NOT include lodging.

Financial Training
OmegaFi is excited to offer financial "train the trainer" programming immediately following FEA Field Staff training, and our team will provide attendees with a facilitation guide for a dozen chapter finance mini-workshops. Attendees will also learn how to help chapters make the most of their OmegaFi partnership through specific product training. Those who would most benefit include staff members currently using one of the following solutions: Vault, LegFi, File 990.
