FEA Implements Strategic Plan
Over the past eighteen months, the Fraternity Executives Association has been working on a Strategic Plan to guide the Association over the next five years. Approved by the membership in Phoenix in December, 2010, the members are now working on the implementation phase.
Knowledge
Strategy
To offer a best-in-class training and development program for fraternity professionals that leverages face-to-face learning, as well as mobile and online technology.
Key Initiatives
1. Develop a professional core competency model and deploy an assessment tool which allows executives to assess individual and staff levels of mastery.
2. Provide access to year-round exceptional learning experiences that assist members in delivering superior results to their organizations.
3. Develop an online knowledge management center that is available to all members as they seek access to best-in-class ideas, tools and resources.
Advocacy
Strategy
Be the voice of the profession and influence issues impacting the fraternity movement.
Key Initiatives
1. FEA will focus its advocacy efforts primarily on areas that directly impact the professional field and secondarily on issues that impact the industry (fraternity and sorority life).
2. Successfully transition to the appropriate organizations the responsibility for coordinating advocacy of fraternity and sorority life issues, while monitoring and actively engaging where significant precedent setting potential exists.
3. FEA will provide training to its members on how to successfully advocate for their organization and the larger fraternal movement.
Membership Excellence
Strategy
Members will be recognized as exemplary and innovative professionals who demonstrate the standard for best practices in association management.
Key Initiatives
1. Strengthen FEA’s value proposition by intentionally and actively recruiting for membership fraternity professionals at all levels of the organization.
2. Refocus and deploy a voluntary mentorship program that aids in the development of the professional and their active involvement within the association.
3. Create and launch a member recognition initiative that recognizes members’ contributions and excellence at all levels of the profession.
Governance and Structure
Strategy
FEA will be a highly effective and collaborative professional association.
Key Initiatives
1. Create a governance structure that is accountable to the membership and is transparent in its recruitment, nomination and selection processes.
2. Explore and create opportunities to strengthen the profession by actively seeking out strategic alliances that aim to further enhance and expand the influence of FEA.
3. Ensure successful execution of the association’s vision and strategic direction by intentionally designing an infrastructure that engages volunteers and that is supported by skill-based professional expertise.
